We offer a flexible, hybrid work environment with this role being located in either our Calgary or Vancouver office.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent business development, technical and people skills to join our Earth & Environment team. You will be a professional scientist with experience in project management and environmental permitting (aquatic, marine, or terrestrial) who can lead challenging projects and play a key role in the growth and development of the firm.

About the role

  • Managing complex projects of varying scales, scopes and budgets.
  • Providing leadership in implementing Ausenco processes and approaches (e.g., project management, quality and safety to ensure that schedule, cost and quality objectives for project deliverables are achieved.
  • Providing regulatory advisory support to proponents and staff during all stages of the project life cycle.
  • Leading the development of environmental permits, assessment reports, including drafting of text, editing of text developed by technical disciplines, and providing senior strategic review of documents.
  • Managing and tracking communication processes between proponents, environmental teams, and regulatory agencies.
  • Playing an active role in identifying, planning, and executing proposal and other business development opportunities.
  • Assisting in the mentoring, training and career development of junior and intermediate staff involved in our Earth and Environment team and permitting work.


About you
  • A university degree, in natural sciences, resource management, engineering or business.
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant professional project management experience in western Canada; of which is preferably from environmental consulting.
  • Knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation gained through formal studies or practical experience.
  • Experience with a range of environmental disciplines (e.g., air quality, noise, surface and groundwater quality, vegetation, wildlife, fish and fish habitat, socio-economics, archaeology).
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing.
  • A professional designation (e.g., R.P.Bio., P.Eng.) is an asset.

Salary Range: $91K - $131K

Expected Salary: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
