Description
Milton CAT is looking for a Project Manager in the Power Systems Division. In this position, there will be training and transition time available to the candidate selected for this position. Ultimately, this position will provide comprehensive management of power generation projects from receipt of purchase through customer acceptance, including timely, cost effective management of multiple projects to meet customer expectations. They will organize, schedule, coordinate, communicate and lead others to execute projects.
Responsibilities
Orders all Caterpillar and non-Caterpillar materials and equipment from suppliers, ensuring a timely release and delivery.
Manages the start-up procedures and documentation with contractors, engineers, customers, owners, utility companies, sales staff and service technicians.
Coordinate the shop buildup of engine generator as well as the delivery of equipment to job sites.
Monitors project costs and coordinates billing to initiate the invoicing process.
Performs on-site job review and attendance of construction meetings with contractors.
Provides problem resolutions with multiple parties, both technical and financial.
Maintains responsibility for all technical and financial closeout of each project ensuring gross profit levels budgeted for each job.

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.
Strong electrical and mechanic aptitude.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Technical knowledge of diesel engine, electrical power generation, power distribution including engine generator sets, system integration design, assembly, installation, commissioning, operation, repair, paralleling switchgear and transfer switches, fuel systems, exhaust systems, enclosures and ancillary equipment.
Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, including blueprints.
Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment.
Proficient in the use of a computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.).
Ability to assess customer needs and evaluate customer satisfaction.
High proficiency with AutoCAD and Adobe Acrobat.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and negotiation skills.
Demonstrable experience leveraging external and internal relationships and networks.
Experience to lead groups/ people and work well with various leadership levels.
Organizational leadership experience spanning across multiple stores, departments and vendors.
Must have and maintain a clean driving record.
Ability to travel up to 25%. Typically limited to our Northeast territory, but may also include out of territory training & development opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
5 years project management or engineering/engine related experience.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or similar technical degree, or an equivalent technical background in electricity, hydraulics, mechanical drives, engines, and industrial operations.
Electrical power, electrician, generator or reciprocating engine experience desired.
