Location: Washington, DC (Onsite - 5 Days per Week)

About the Role:

The Project Manager - Azure Systems Engineers will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of cloud-based infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with government IT requirements and security standards. This role requires expertise in Azure cloud environments, Agile project management, and cybersecurity best practices. The ideal candidate will coordinate across engineering teams, manage cloud security initiatives, and ensure successful implementation of enterprise cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project & Agile Management: Lead Azure cloud engineering teams in Agile project execution, sprint planning, and backlog management.
  • Cloud Security & Compliance: Oversee cloud security initiatives, ensuring adherence to Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), FedRAMP, and DoD cybersecurity policies.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between government clients, security teams, and cloud engineers, ensuring project requirements are met.
  • Cloud Platform Oversight: Guide the design, implementation, and optimization of multi-tenant Microsoft Azure architecture for enterprise applications.
  • Incident Response & Risk Management: Work closely with security operations teams to manage cloud security monitoring, alerts, and response efforts.
  • Infrastructure & Security Governance: Identify and resolve gaps in governance, reporting, and alerting for Azure enterprise environments.
  • Technical Integration Support: Ensure seamless integration of Azure cloud services, ICAM, ServiceNow, JIRA, and GitLab for secure and efficient operations.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage technical support queues, service-level agreements, and customer requests related to Azure cloud operations.
  • Process Optimization & Automation: Implement strategies to enhance automation, streamline DevSecOps processes, and improve cloud security operations.
  • Cross-Cloud Collaboration: Support interoperability efforts across Azure, AWS, and hybrid cloud environments for enterprise scalability.

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, cloud security, or IT operations, with a strong focus on Azure cloud environments.
  • Certifications: Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), AWS Solutions Architect, CISSP, or similar certifications preferred.
  • Azure Expertise: Strong knowledge of Azure security tools, governance frameworks, and enterprise cloud deployment strategies.
  • Security & Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), FedRAMP, RMF, NIST SP800-53, and DoD cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Technical Tool Proficiency: Hands-on experience with JIRA, ServiceNow, GitLab, and cloud-native security monitoring solutions.
  • Agile & DevSecOps Knowledge: Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud security automation.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience working with the Department of State, DoD, or intelligence agencies on cloud modernization projects.
  • Multi-cloud expertise in AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
