PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Project Manager is responsibilities for managing all aspects of capital projects including scope, schedule, and budget. Provides guidance and oversight for design and construction partners to promote the goals of CFBISD. Ensure effective coordination with campus administration and district personnel while reporting to Director of Facility Planning and Construction.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification
  • Bachelors from accredited college or 8 years (total) applicable work experience
  • Clear and valid Texas driver's license.

Preferred Experience:
  • Five years of successful work experience in building design & construction, or related fields
  • Three years of successful supervisory experience, preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Knowledge of planning and organizing facility construction and maintenance projects and activities
  • Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and terminology used in construction trades
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, ordinances, regulations, policies and procedures related to school construction and safety
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws, such as ADA and other statutes pertaining to public facilities
  • Skilled in organizing and conducting effective meetings
  • Ability to prepare and present complex and technical reports
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to use software programs such as Microsoft Project, Excel, and other scheduling packages
  • Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating tact, patience, and courtesy

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Manage and lead construction, reconstruction, alteration, relocation and other capital outlay projects from planning and design through occupancy.
  • Attend all project development and progress meetings, regularly scheduled site walks, taking photographs, and documentation
  • Plan, organize, and monitor operations of assigned projects ensuring projects comply with established rules and regulations, project drawings, and requirements.
  • Oversee and recommend payments to contractors and vendors or outside organizations according to established guidelines and procedures.
  • Coordinate with appropriate municipal and other regulatory agencies as required
  • Interact with campus and district administration and supervisory staff to report and respond to building project related issues and developments.
  • Develop and maintain regular reports on construction and major maintenance projects and assist the preparation of all regularly scheduled and requested reports.
  • Conduct and or facilitate job-cost-analysis.
  • Regularly conduct on-site observations and inspections to monitor progress and quality of individual projects.
  • Compile, maintain and file all required reports and maintain organized and accessible system for all reports, records, plans, specifications and other documents.
  • Work with appropriate district staff to turn new or renovated facilities over to the end users including support services of maintenance, operations and food services.
  • Model core organizational beliefs and values, communicate openly and effectively within and across teams and manage resources to effectively support district goals.
  • Implement vertical and horizontal interdepartmental collaboration to integration initiatives supporting customer satisfaction.
  • Pursue professional development activities that align with district goals and initiatives and current professional research.
