The selected candidate will perform the following duties:
Daily Tasks Performed
Project Manager /Scrum Manager that will manage a large scale client Customer Data Platform and Personalization program. client currently is in process of SAFe Agile Transformation. The contract engagement is multi-year and will involve SAFe delivery throughout the overall project lifecycle.
- Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies for the IT community to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations
- Responsible for assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality reviews; and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately
- Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources
- Coordinates communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts the scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed
- Manages one or more cross-functional projects of high complexity
- Responsible for the management of one or more medium to large-sized, moderately to highly complex projects
- This position requires extensive collaboration and cross-functional communication with IT, AHM associates, consultants, contingent workforce, and vendors.'
- Tracks costs and performance, service levels and other metrics required to ensure project goals and objectives are met
- Serves as a resource to project managers and project leaders to educate and assist them with implementing project management processes and making improvement/changes
- Provides administrative support to project managers and project leaders
- Ensures project control systems are in place and integrates project data for decision makers
- Coordinates and works with internal and external parties to organize the various components needed to initiate, run and conclude major projects.
- The Scrum Master's primary role is to help the Product Team work more effectively. With a focus on continuous improvement, the Scrum Master will work closely with the Product Owner and development team, leading the production support and enhancement of our customer- and dealer-facing digital products. Support the team's adherence to agile practices and values, coach team members on the use of agile methodologies to achieve agile maturity, remove impediments to help the team progress on their deliverables, identify areas of improvement, and propel the agile process ensuring Scrum ceremonies take place, are time boxed and are positive and productive.
Position Success Criteria (Desired) - 'WANTS'
Academic/Experience/Competency:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience.
- Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum is preferred.
- 7 to 10 years of IT work experience, managing IT projects
- Advanced ability to oversee and manage large, complex, diverse and strategic projects that impact the organization as a whole
- Advanced understanding and ability to manage complex program and project budgets
- Advanced ability in implementing program and project plans, monitoring progress, resource usage and quality
- Advanced knowledge in conducting risk assessments and developing plans for eliminating or mitigating the risks identified
- Advanced understanding of multiple project management disciplines
- Extensive project management knowledge/experience in leading and implementing Personalization and Customer Interaction program
- Advanced knowledge/experience of multiple project management strategies, disciplines, and theories
- Strong experience with Agile/SCRUM/SAFE delivery methodologies
- Strong experience with Jira and Confluence
- Strong experience managing Software package implementation projects / programs (including SaaS framework)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Effective communication and guidance for technical teams such as ARB (Architectural Review Board)
- Take personal ownership and responsibility for all deliverables.
Tasks to be completed on a daily, weekly, monthly or annual basis, project assigned:
- Manage Large-scale IT project that will involve multiple technologies
- Be a core resource within the Data Platform Services department operating as a senior PM assigned to project
- The candidate will be expected to grow the client knowledge on methodology and build a strong working knowledge of the Customer Data Platform
- Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies for the IT community to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations including tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources
- Responsible for assembling project plans, program increment plans, and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality reviews; and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately
- Manage and monitor project financials (project budgets, forecasts, variances, invoices)
- Coordinates communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts the scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed
- Manages cross-functional projects of high complexity
- Assess project status and proactively manage changes in scope and priorities throughout project
- Manage project communications and status reports across project team, IT Leadership, and Business Stakeholders
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings with various functional areas and external vendors
- Maintain detailed project documentation including meeting minutes, action items, issues lists and risk management plans
- Delivery of business value through utilization of Scrum framework:
Facilitate medium to high complexity agile initiatives from initiation through release, providing oversight to ensure alignment with Scrum framework.
Coordinate and lead monthly release management activities.
Manage risk to delivery by identifying and removing impediments and external interruptions that distract the team from delivering highest business value.
Create and/or maintain product documentation and artifacts to support delivery, collaboration, and governance.
Remain up to date with emerging technologies, mandatory software updates, understanding existing systems, data, and processes.
- Enable the agile team's efficacy:
Facilitate and support all Scrum events, including but not limited to Daily Stand Ups, Sprint
Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives.
Challenge the team to continuously improve through intentional, data-driven inspection and adaption (retrospectives).
Examine and drive team performance leveraging metrics such as capacity, burn down, velocity, etc, and ensure accurate and timely feedback to the team and transparency to Product Owner and executive stakeholders.
Support and empower the development team to make appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition.
Guide the team towards self-organization and cross-functionality; encourage, support, and enable the team to reach their full potential and abilities.
For scrum masters with Direct Reports: Supervise work and performance. Lead, coach, and ensure performance growth and development.
- Support the Product Owner's partnership with other teams and stakeholders:
Collaborate with the Product Owner to define and prioritize the product backlog, as well as ensure that it is visible, transparent, and understood by the development team.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, QA engineers, and stakeholders, to ensure successful delivery of product features.
Negotiate with external stakeholders, other product teams, partner resources to facilitate the removal of impediments.
Support the Product Owner with meetings, building connections, building innovative solutions that contribute towards stakeholder business objectives.
-Provide organizational coaching and best practice sharing on agile business practice/agile program management:
Evangelize Scrum best practices, and coach the organization on the use of Scrum framework to plan, manage, and deliver high-quality solutions.
Work with other Scrum Masters to ensure consistency in Agile practices across multiple teams.
Identify and act on opportunities for continuous improvement to improve agile maturity.
