We are looking to hire a Project Manager, Major Projects based out of one of our branches in the following locations: Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie and/or Fort St. John.

This role provides leadership, mentorship, and promotes a safety-focused culture. The Project Manager delivers client progress meetings and weekly project reports to the Senior Leadership team while ensuring client commitments are met.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Providing leadership and mentoring around building a strong, safety focused culture to all levels of stakeholders.
  • Reviewing bid packages, RFIs, drawings, changes, and contracts to ensure projects meet client specifications, budget, and timelines.
  • Working with the People & Culture team to ensure hiring and training is aligned with workforce planning.
  • Set-up of all progress trackers for each project that is assigned in collaboration with Major Projects Construction Management Team.
  • Presenting progress reports to clients and Senior Leadership, focused on timeline and budget adherence.
  • Attend regular on-site progress meetings with clients and corporate office meetings.
  • Reviewing IFC documents with estimators to find scope changes from original IFB drawings.
  • Collaborate with the Major Projects CMT to create delta change orders for client presentation.
  • Estimating and preparing change management documents for clients.
  • Generating weekly cost/manpower reports for all assigned projects.
  • Monitoring costs and forecasting for each project on a weekly basis.
  • Reviewing QA/QC turnovers during and at the end of the project to ensure the client receives quality package.
  • Managing manpower for all assigned construction projects.
  • Making sure that the project supervisors have all the templates required to complete the job before the job starts (prints, bid package, trackers, etc.).
  • Collaborating with the CDN Invoicing Administrator to ensure timely and accurate progressive billing.
  • Conducting regular site inspections to document quality and safety of the physical work.
  • Coordinating with the purchasing team to ensure proper bid documentation and quotes before placing orders.
  • Partnering with the estimating team to perform bid reviews and close-outs as needed.
  • Collaborating with the CDN Major Projects Projects Controls team to enhance project tools, workspaces, and initiatives.
  • Updating the manpower schedule.
  • Assisting with third-party services, rentals, and POs for projects.
  • Complete assigned and ongoing training as required.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must hold a valid journeyman certificate in Electrical or Instrumentation.
  • 5 years+ Project and construction management experience including leading successful E&I construction projects, preferable within the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Must prioritize teamwork and collaborate effectively in group settings.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • MS Project or Primavera scheduling experience is an asset.
  • Good understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Clean Drivers Abstract.
  • Pre-Employment Drug and Alcohol Testing.
  • H2S Alive/First Aid Level C - CPR & AED/CSTS/CSO.
