As the largest behavioral and developmental disability care center in Texas, The Harris Center provided care to over 96,000 people in fiscal year 2023!
As part of its mission to transform the lives of people with behavioral health and IDD needs in the third largest county in the United States, The HARRIS CENTER provides a full continuum of services at 86 different sites across Harris County. Your role in action:
- Oversee the direction and completion of all agency construction projects, from start to finish.
- Manage project management, budgets, schedule development, preconstruction, design, operations, safety, and construction contract administration.
- Collaborate with agency leaders and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and technical feasibility.
- Develop construction budgets, cost estimates, and financial projections, ensuring adherence to approved budgets.
- Create and implement construction project schedules, monitoring progress and making necessary adjustments.
- Track project progress against goals, approved budgets, and timelines, implementing action plans as needed.
- Manage resources effectively, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget by coordinating labor, materials, and equipment.
- Ensure adherence to quality construction standards and proper construction techniques.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements, building and safety codes, inspections, guidelines, and regulations.
- Oversee onsite and offsite construction activities to ensure compliance with regulations and safety measures.
- Administer construction contracts, including execution, invoicing, accounts payable, and vendor management.
- Develop and implement effective project communication plans, providing updates to leadership teams and stakeholders through meetings and reports.
What qualifications you will need:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a similar field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of project management experience in commercial, healthcare, or industrial construction.
- Proven track record of leading project teams with a strong understanding of sequencing, scheduling, and planning in the construction industry.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project for effective project management.
- Ability to read, interpret, and execute engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong multitasking abilities to handle multiple projects and priorities concurrently.
- Excellent negotiation and managerial skills to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction principles and equipment capabilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders.
- Proficient in computer skills to support project management tasks.
