General Summary of PositionAssists in the planning, coordination and execution of projects for Perioperative and Procedural Services. Provides key support in the development of presentations, editing of written materials, and executing Perioperative and Procedural strategic initiatives.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists in the coordination, execution and implementation of strategic Perioperative and Procedural Services projects as assigned by leadership through the scoping and planning of projects, development and adherence to timelines, development and adherence to budgets, coordination of meetings, agenda preparation, the taking of minutes, the tracking of follow-ups, and day-to-day task support to ensure projects are completed successfully.
  • Provides Perioperative and Procedural Services leadership significant support in the preparation of high-quality presentations for internal and external audiences. Create PowerPoint slides incorporating text, graphics and other media sources.
  • Provides key support in the coordination of planning and scheduling educational activities, including conferences, seminars, workshops, in-services, etc. as applicable for Perioperative and Procedural Services projects.
  • Supports strategic planning efforts and implementation of new systems. Initiates the investigation, justification and request for capital and non-capital purchases.
  • In coordination internal departments, manages departmental communication efforts including the coordination and implementation of a variety of publications and brochures and marketing materials, including gathering and editing content. Consult with appropriate departmental contacts to gather information and ensure accuracy.
  • With direction from Leadership, responsible for written communications to physicians and associates regarding operational updates, changes, etc.
  • Provides coordination and support of quality management functions to include data extraction, analysis and report creation. Works collaboratively with clinical quality managers to assess trends and shares outcomes with related department committees and leadership.
  • Serves as liaison with other MedStar Health entities and communicates appropriately.


  • Minimum Qualifications
    Education
    • Bachelor's degree required
    • Master's degree preferred


    Experience
    • 3-4 years Managing, coordinating and executing projects required
    • 1-2 years Experience in change management preferred


    Licenses and Certifications
    • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI Project management professional certification from an accredited program preferred


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Strong computer literacy including command of Microsoft office suite (PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, Visio)
    • Ability to create Gantt charts, develop timelines, deadlines and action plans
    • Strong writing and problem-solving skills


    This position has a hiring range of $70,428 - $131,310
