Position Summary: As delegated, plans, directs, and coordinates work activities related to specific construction projects; ensuring that the different components of the project remain interlinked. The main focus is to achieve the set goals and objectives by ensuring that the project workers have and understand the correct procedure of activities. Ensures that design, planning, construction and/or operations of facilities and buildings are in compliance with accreditation, codes, healthcare licensing, and regulatory requirements & standards.

Critical Tasks:

  • Works with project teams to develop and revise project designs and detailed plans, track progress against plan deliverables and objectives, maintain communication flow between project team and Management, and anticipate/resolve potential project delays, budget cost overruns, and regulatory issues.
  • Monitor project delivery to ensure completion on time and within budget, address budget expansion and "scope creep" with project team and Management. Process statements of work and other project related contracts, PO's, validate and approve invoices, promptly resolve invoicing issues, and work the Finance to maintain accurate project financials.
  • Coordinates project activities with activities of tribal government regulatory, LUPZ, Council, or other governmental agencies. Works with various departments to form project proposals, prepares RFP for design consultants and contractors; may use Design/Bid/Build, CM At Risk, or Design/Build delivery method to design and construct projects. Coordinates Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) with users, consultants, and contractors.
  • Plans and executes staff & department moves.
  • Reviews project proposals/plans to determine time frame, funding, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements and resources needed.
  • Enlists resources to contribute to project delivery, prepare and execute contractor agreements, maintain project tracking systems, keep project team informed of important project details (e.g., expectations, deadlines, progress, changes, developments), respond to project team questions and concerns, and address performance issues (e.g., timeliness, quality, behavior).
  • Coordinates the activities of the project team to eliminate duplication of efforts.
  • Ensures that the working interrelationships are effective for timely project completion.


  • Organizes project's contractual information. Maintains project budget, provides estimates of change order costs/impacts. Maintains project related files/records.
  • Prepares and submits various reports including data collection, analysis and presentation material. Prepares various correspondence including letters, memos, filings, response to inquiries, RFP's etc.
  • Participates in a variety of project related meetings for development of communications with all effected stakeholders.
  • Coordinates furniture, fixtures, and equipment with end users, consultants, and contractors. Plans and executes moves; working collaboratively to identify and coordinate temporary space needs.
  • Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Planning & Development. Master's preferred.
  • 5 years' experience as a Construction Project Manager/Coordinator.
  • 1 year previous healthcare construction project management experience preferred.
