The Project Manager will require excellent organizational skill as well as the ability to manage multiple projects, while paying close attention to detail. The position will require excellent project management skills leveraging cross functional teams throughout the product life cycle. The role will optimize performance across multiple brands driving efficiencies that obtain the Company's strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • Lead cross-functional project teams utilizing internal and external resources to implement projects and ensure goals are being met by prioritizing, monitoring and executing workflows
  • Guide large projects through the Polaris Marine Product Development Process, following a phase-gate project management approach
  • Proactively escalate and inform key stakeholders of status for all projects by tracking and reporting on tollgates, deliverables, hurdles, deadlines, resource staffing, and other issues to facilitate joint problem solving
  • Prepare and manage project timelines/Gantt charts working closely with the product managers and communicate these deliverables to the organization
  • Propose and administrate overall and individual project budgets including both capitalizable and non-capitalizable expenses (Capex OpEx) in alignment with company's overall financial plan
  • Help facilitate financial and technical justification for product selection and developmental projects
  • Coordinate all phases of product development life cycle through introduction to market by effectively guiding handoff of projects between various departments
  • Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Design, Engineering, Operations, and Executive Leadership
  • Accountable for delivering to the agreed upon business case metrics for each project such as: milestone dates, product launch dates, material cost, and development budgets
  • Assist in tracking and management of individual and departmental workloads to effectively utilize staff based on long-rang product plan (LRPP) commitments
  • Effectively engage with and manage external design and tooling vendor relationships, including the procurement of quotes based on well-defined scope of work documents created in collaboration with Engineering and Design and management of corresponding project spend in alignment with approved project budgets
  • Facilitate the creation and presentation of project milestone PowerPoint presentations at project milestones to Executive and Departmental Leadership to ensure projects stay in alignment with overall business objectives
  • Lead strategic efforts to facilitate inter-departmental cooperation to overcome various challenges that arise which interfere with the company's objectives
    SKILLS KNOWLEDGE
    • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college/university or experience in project management, sales, engineering, or marketing
    • Ability to work with complex cross functional teams
    • Excellent communication skills and a comfort in interacting with staff at various levels of seniority
    • Strong project management experience - PMP certification is desired, but not required
    • Ability to resolve conflict and drive accountability through proactive leadership
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and Power Point
    • Able to learn to use Smartsheet, the company's chosen project management software
    • The individual must have the ability to adapt and work in an ever-changing environment
    • Prior experience in the Marine Industry is a plus but not required
