Project Manager

The Project Manager (PM) will be under the supervision of the Area Manager (AM) and work in the Hudson Valley area. This position provides direction to a WWTF Contract Operations Project. The PM ensures established goals and objectives are met within framework of established corporate or organizational policy. The PM will manage any number of employees directly or as participants of a project team. They are responsible for regulatory compliance, client relations, and financial performance of Contract Operations. This is an exempt (salaried) position which requires a minimum of 40 hours per week on site.

THE DAY-TO-DAY

Provides AM with budget needs and requests. Addresses fiscal responsibilities including meeting established Gross Margin goals.

Inputs data into DMR/DOH/NYAlert web pages. Acts as signatory for Water & Sewer systems in region.

Responsible for preparing and submitting Operations Reports including all contractually obligated client reports by the 15th of the month to the client and Area Manager.

Responsible for operation & maintenance of a 1.5 mgd WW Treatment plant. Must meet all permit and regulatory reporting requirements.

Provides training & instruction to staff, handles disciplinary matters with the help of HR, writes annual reviews, develops employee and facility goals and assists in their accomplishment.

Responsible for advanced maintenance, regulatory sampling, and Inventory management including ordering. Must keep accurate and detailed records throughout the plant.

Maintains excellent communications & working relationship with Key Personnel. Reports any issues to the Area Manager. Conducts monthly meetings with client or as needed.

Contacts contractors for work proposals and schedules sludge hauls.

Must have on-call availability within a 60-minute response time for on call emergencies.

Ensures adherence to Health and Safety Standards Program, Environmental Regulatory requirements, and other statutory requirements.

Ensures that all safety tasks, observations, trainings, vehicle and safety audits are completed on time for both the PM and the staff. Verifies this in SOSPES monthly.

Attends monthly safety committee and regional update meetings.

Responsible for housekeeping and grounds up-keep including garbage removal, sweeping, mopping, dusting, organizing supplies and parts, cleaning bathrooms, mowing, weed trimming and snow removal.

Ensures that the treatment plant has coverage on scheduled time off and it is approved by the Area Manager. Approves time off requestions and covers staff absences.

Keeps up with new policies and procedures that come from H2O, NYDES and EPA and trains staff. Completes and ensures completion of all trainings required by H2O.

Trains new employees on routine testing of wastewater and water, recording test results and maintaining the plant logbook with accurate and timely entries of activities.

Maintains certifications and is responsible for continued education credits.

Develops OITs, Operators and Chief Operators for the next stage position.

Performs all duties of the Water and Wastewater Operator as needed.
Perform other duties as require

Requirements:

Must Possess a minimum of a Grade 2a NYDEC wastewater operator certification

Must possess a minimum of a Grade IIA NYSDOH drinking water certification

Must have management experience within the water and wastewater operations field

Must be able to troubleshoot and make decisions in high stress scenarios

Must be well versed in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Etc.)

Must possess a clean drivers license

Must be willing to field alarms and oversee/issue work order and on call schedules

Must be familiar with regulatory reporting and sampling

Salary:

$80,000 - $110,000 /year + a take home vehicle.
