Project Manager

BB&E is a full service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, headquartered in Northville, Michigan, which services both the Federal and Industrial sectors throughout the United States. BB&E team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors.

Position Summary

BB&E is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Manager to join our team, supportingthe Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) onsite at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Honolulu, HI. Will be responsible for overseeing and managing a variety of projects related to communications networks, security systems, and facility renovations. The position involves working on both classified and unclassified networks for the U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense (DoD).

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Project Management: Lead planning, programming, and design efforts for Air Force and DoD communications networks including secure open storage areas (SOSA) and sensitive compartmented information facilities (SCIF); manage engineering and construction activities associated with communications infrastructure, ensuring alignment with security requirements and project goals
• Collaboration: Work with multidisciplinary engineering teams and Air Force leadership to ensure projects meet design, construction, and renovation standards, particularly for historic administrative facilities and SCIFs
• Technical: Oversee security systems installations, including alarms, access control, and other related systems; provide technical advisement and support on non-advisory contracts, including Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization (SRM), MILCON, and other repair/renovation projects
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Prepare and present reports, analyze project data, and make recommendations to senior management without assistance

Key Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship and an active DoD Secret Security Clearance is required
• Certification: Professional Engineering License in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering is preferred
• Knowledge: Must be highly experienced with codes, standards, design, and construction requirements related to SOSA and SCIF; have strong technical expertise in managing contracts for Air Force and DoD infrastructure projects, including SRM and MILCON
• Data Analysis: Ability to organize and gather project data, conduct analysis, prepare reports and provide sound recommendations without assistance
• Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Software: Proficiency using MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Self-Starter: Highly motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines autonomously

Experience & Education

• Experience: Must be a senior professional with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience as an engineer doing design and construction management interacting with senior engineering professionals from multiple disciplines, including a minimum of four (4) years' experience working at Air Force MAJCOM, numbered Air Force, or Field Operating Agency-level programs, directly supporting management in planning and programming activities; must have a minimum of six (6) years' experience directly supporting creation and technical expertise regarding non-advisory and assistance contracts, including SRM, SRM-like, MILCON, or other repair and renovation contracts for the Air Force or DoD
• Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Architecture is required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain in a stationary position/sit at least 60% of the time
• Ability to operate office equipment, including computer, copy machine, phone, etc.
• Capable of light lifting, under 10 lbs.
• Ability to work on-site on a standard 8-hour shift, Monday-Friday
