PROJECT MANAGER
CLASSIFICATION (FLSA): EXEMPT
COMPENSATION: $90,000-$120,000
REPORTS TO: Director of Programs
Job Summary
A Project Manager's overarching responsibility is to provide the leadership, guidance, and support necessary to ensure the success of the project in terms of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Profitability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and COMPETENCIES
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The Project Manager must be able to meet and successfully perform the essential functions of this job, which includes touring the job site on a regular basis. Projects are frequently related to ship repair work which requires standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, stooping, crawling, climbing, and crouching. The PM must be able to access any place on the jobsite where work is being accomplished
POSITION TYPE / HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time salary (exempt) position. The salary is based on a 40-hour work week. SCW's work schedule is Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., but this is subject to change depending on the needs of the project. Working in excess of 40 hours will be based on the needs of the project.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES
- Serve as the point of contact (POC) for project matters.
- Set Project Team expectations and priorities, and resolve conflicts
- Attend Customer meetings as required (OQE, progress, Tank, critical path, etc)
- Identify and report inefficient, unprofessional, and hazardous work practices to Dept Heads
- Brief Customer and SCWM senior Mangers regarding production status
- Walk the project to determine first-hand the status of work
- Host SCWM production meetings with craft supervisors
- Must adhere to a promote ALL company safety policies. Wear all required PPE when in Production areas and promote a clean and safe work environment.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and COMPETENCIES
- Rudimentary knowledge of government contracting and NavSea Standard Items
- Working knowledge of trade interdependencies, QA, Safety, and work requirements
- Basic understanding of the planning and scheduling processes
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and critical path schedules
- Good written, oral, and people skills to work well with Customer and SCWM personnel

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and CREDENTIALS
- Able to secure a DBIDs
- Able to fluently read, speak, and understand English
- Seven plus (7+) years of experience in the ship repair industry, 2 years in a supervisory capacity. Experience in other heavy industries may be considered.
