Nikkiso Energy Infrastructure & Strategic Projects (NESP) is a functional unit of Nikkiso CE&IG that develops and executes turnkey EPC projects (> US$10 MM) globally. NESP designs, integrates, and fabricates complete energy infrastructure projects and cryogenic plants.

Reporting to the Project Director, the Project Manager is responsible for managing & executing projects, project coordination, supporting Project Team, developing project management procedures and forms, and executing turnkey projects globally for the Nikkiso Energy Infrastructure & Special Projects functional unit. The Project Manager will directly support the Project Director in executing EPCM Projects.

The Project Manager is responsible for supporting the Project Director in capital equipment projects from order receipt to shipment and final documentation. The Project Manager will lead the development of Project Execution Plans, support and may lead Technical and commercial meetings, maintain meeting minutes/action items.

The Project Manager needs to be an experienced professional broadly versed in all areas of EPC methods associated with cryogenic, industrial gases and renewable energy projects. Typical projects may consist of LNG unloading terminals, LNG storage, regasification plants, liquefaction plants and other LNG to power energy projects.

  • Develop Project Execution Plans consistent with client expectations and contractual scope of work.
  • Apply PMI project management tools and techniques to ensure all assigned projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, contractual compliance and executed to completion safely.
  • Oversee the management of cross-functional project teams by communicating and monitoring progress against established baselines.
  • Actively follow, maintain, and update the project execution plan, including risks and opportunities.
  • Support Project Director including Maintaining Project documentation such as Needs List, Meeting Minutes/Actions, Risk Register, Decision Log, RFIs and other project documentation.
  • Support Project Director in maintaining Project Financials, supporting preparation of Monthly internal and External Reporting, Coordinating with Project DRIs and other Nikkiso CEIG companies supporting Project.
  • Manage customer/vendor project scope delineations, interfaces, and battery limits and manage the change order process when deviations are identified.
  • Participate in qualifying contractors/vendors, negotiating pricing and standard terms and conditions.
  • Coordinate with customers and subcontractors to ensure a flow of communication, maintain various internal and external Project Logs.
  • Provide management reports, including progressive project status reporting and expenditure forecasts.
  • Develop Project Management Procedures, Project Management Forms such as Monthly Reporting Formats, Change Order Forms, RFI Forms, Needs List Forms, etc.
  • Ensure the project is closed properly, including project document preparation, processing of purchasing invoices and document transfer to operating staff.
  • Participate in lessons-learned sessions to assist with settling disputes, claims, etc. and promote continuous improvement and best project management practices.
  • Create and revise project documentation as required by the supplier document list (SDL)
  • Work as a liaison between departments, suppliers, and the customer to address project design requirements
  • Review projects proposals and customer specifications to develop project plans and objectives
  • Review product designs to ensure they meet project specifications and are incompliance with industry regulations
  • Work with Design Engineering to ensure on-time completion of design work and that designs meet project specifications
  • Oversee testing and address non-conforming material (NCM) issues
  • Domestic and foreign travel to meet with customers and suppliers
  • Attend meetings and take minutes, follow up on action items
  • Support Nikkiso's sales companies in delivering consistent, high-quality proposals and participate in customer meetings to establish technical criteria.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Qualifications

Experience/Qualifications
  • Minimum 10-15 years' Experience working on EP or EPC Cryogenic & Petrochemical Project Execution
  • Experience as Project Manager, Project Coordinator, & Project Engineer on LNG Regasification and Liquefaction Projects
  • Experienced handling multiple tasks and coordinating Team efforts
  • Experience Managing Projects
  • Experienced developing Work Procedures
  • Advanced knowledge with MS Office Suite
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project Scheduling
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Travel Requirements
  • Ability to travel - domestic & International.


Environmental Safety Requirements
  • New Employee Safety Training is required by all newly hired employees, including Safety Awareness
  • All safety related training is provided and tracked by the EHS Manager
  • Job specific training modules deemed necessary by the employee's Manager or Director will be required of all employees on an ongoing basis
  • Employees are required to wear Nikkiso provided PPE as/when needed. PPEs include safety shoes, safety glasses, face shields, FR clothing, cryogenic gloves, cryogenic aprons, cut resistant gloves, safety gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, dust masks and face masks. Failure to comply with ACD safety requirements will result in disciplinary actions, up to and including termination.
