Job Description
This is a full-time, computer-professional exempt position. The Project Manager in this position will be responsible for leading team(s) to deliver project(s) that span across multiple software solutions in the ELLKAY product suite to support our growing laboratory and hospital client base. This includes the full project management cycle, including management of issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.
The Project Manager has the authority to run each project on a day-to-day basis and is ultimately responsible for establishing and cultivating a positive working relationship with each laboratory or hospital client from an Operations perspective.

Job Description

This includes the full project management cycle, including management of issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.
The Project Manager has the authority to run each project on a day-to-day basis and is ultimately responsible for establishing and cultivating a positive working relationship with each laboratory or hospital client from an Operations perspective.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the successful implementation of low to moderate complexity lab interface projects that span across multiple software solutions in the ELLKAY product suite
- Provide leadership for project team by coaching, mentoring, and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
- Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one or more initiatives simultaneously
- Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure overall success of the customer implementation
- Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence
- Prepare estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the project
- Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources and chair the regular project status update meetings with the customer
- Provide status reporting to internal and external leadership / stakeholders regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues
- Understand interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs
- Demonstrate a functional acumen to support how solutions will address client goals
- Manage project scope and changes
- Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables
- Define success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout each project
- Serve as primary point of contact for all project communication, both oral and written
- Set and manage appropriate expectations both internally and externally
Qualifications:
- Thorough understanding of hospital workflows as they pertain to interface connectivity
- Experience leading multifaceted projects on time and within budget
- Experience navigating through complex hospital environments
- Experience with interfacing between different hospital systems strongly preferred
- Strong HL7 knowledge
- Experience working with different data formats (e.g., HL7, XML, CSV, etc.)
- Experience working with different EMR vendors and/or Labs on connectivity projects
- Knowledge of basic networking and different connectivity solutions (e.g., VPN, SFTP, TCP-IP, etc.)
- Excellent communication (written, verbal and presentation) and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands
- Experience leading, motivating and managing various project team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding team accountable for performance
- Flexible with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to exercise effective decision-making in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of healthcare data & workflow
Education/Training/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in appropriate field of study
- 3+ years of project management experience, including tracking and planning projects
- 1-3 years of experience in a hospital environment preferred
- Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
