Job Summary: Project Manager
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Architectural team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional with specific focus in institutional project work, primarily K-12 and higher education, both within the private and public sector. The candidate should possess a professional degree in architecture. Architectural licensure is preferred, but not absolutely necessary. The candidate should be a strong team player with a keen desire to join our integrated team of design professionals. The select candidate will collaborate closely with Principals, internal team members, clients and consultants, while working on projects that may span all NK office geographies (NY, NJ & PA). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10+ years of experience.
Primary focus is upon managing and administrating the project, development and maintenance of schedules and budgets through planning, coordination and tracking of project team activities.
This position is currently offered as a hybrid position, with both in-office requirements as well as the potential for remote work. Hybrid work protocols may be subject to change as the company policies adapt to post-pandemic business needs.
The position is located at NK Architects' New Jersey office at 95 Washington Street, Morristown.
Candidate Duties/Responsibilities:
Coordinates all project efforts to ensure effective execution
Estimates scope of work and project budget and oversees less experienced team members
Handles complex projects
Responsible for coordination of all project efforts, administrative and technical, to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects
Prepares strategic plans for project success
Serves as primary liaison contact with clients to complete projects on schedule, within budget and with maximum client satisfaction
Actively develops and manages budgets, schedules, and programs; project communications and documentation; office administrative tasks; and project team assignments
Monitors and adjusts staff resource allocation in response to budget and project developments
Prepares and/or assists in preparation of project pursuits, proposals and contracts
Provides oversight and monitoring of work of less experienced team members
While the emphasis is on effectively managing resources (people, time and efforts), occasional involvement in various other tasks, including problem-solving, design and production
Required Skills/Abilities:
Comfortable in a fast-paced and energetic environment
Excellent organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail
Familiarity with Newforma and other similar platforms (e.g. - Procore) a plus
Familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint a plus
Must be versed in Microsoft Office, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project
Collaborative work ethic
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to develop and articulate solutions to issues as they arise in real-time
Ability to delegate efficiently while also able to occasionally self-perform production is a plus
Ability to work within Autodesk Revit environment a plus
Significant educational project experience is a plus
Prior experience with New Jersey Schools Development Corporation (NJSDA) design-build process and other agency-driven project delivery a plus
Education and Experience:
Professional degree in Architecture is required
Licensure is preferred
