Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to lead public works construction projects from planning through closeout. The ideal candidate will have a proven background managing municipal, state, and federally funded construction projects, with a focus on meeting timelines, budget goals, and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong leadership, effective communication, and a proactive approach to coordinating project teams, subcontractors, and agency stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery.
  • Compliance & Regulations: Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal codes, prevailing wage requirements, and environmental regulations.
  • Contract Management: Negotiate, execute, and manage subcontractor and vendor agreements.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the main liaison between government agencies, consultants, architects, and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify potential project risks and implement solutions to mitigate delays or cost overruns.
  • Budget Oversight: Track project expenses, manage invoicing, and maintain financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Safety & Quality Assurance: Promote and enforce site safety practices while ensuring all work meets specified quality standards.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain organized project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, progress reports, and compliance records.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent field experience).
  • 5+ years of project management experience, with emphasis on public works or infrastructure projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of public contracting, bid processes, and compliance standards.
  • Prior experience with Caltrans, DOT, or other public agency-managed projects preferred.
  • Proficient in project management platforms such as Procore, Primavera P6, or MS Project.
  • Strong skills in leadership, scheduling, cost control, and issue resolution.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specs, and project documents.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites.

Preferred Certifications
  • PMP (Project Management Professional)
  • CCM (Certified Construction Manager)
  • OSHA 30 Certification
