Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Project Manager to oversee and manage multiple projects from inception through completion. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, a strong background in project management tools, and a proven track record of managing IT projects effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Role Definition: Clearly define roles and responsibilities within the project team, ensuring constructive and productive participation from all members.
  • Task Management: Aggressively manage project tasks to ensure work progresses according to schedule.
  • Requirements Gathering: Collect and consolidate requirements from a diverse set of users into a comprehensive statement of requirements.
  • Documentation: Prepare, obtain approval for, and track changes in project scope. Maintain thorough and accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communication: Communicate project changes and events to stakeholders and senior management. Ensure that all parties are kept informed of project status.
  • Goal Setting: Set project goals and develop detailed plans to meet those goals.
  • Resource Coordination: Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple associated projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Meetings: Conduct regular project meetings, ensuring comprehensive documentation of project progress and outcomes.
  • Status Reporting: Provide timely status reports reflecting project status, issues, and risks.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify risks and impacts, collaborating with customers and project teams to address concerns.
  • Compliance: Consult with the project team on all aspects of project management and ensure compliance with organizational policies, standards, and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven work experience as an IT Project Manager with a minimum of 10 years.
  • Methodologies: Significant experience in both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies (7 years required).
  • Tools: Proficiency with Planview Enterprise or similar Portfolio and Project Management tools (7 years required). Experience with Azure DevOps or other Agile Project Management tools is also required (7 years required).
  • RFP Process: Experience with the RFP process (5 years required).
  • Certifications: Certified Project Manager by PMI or VITA PM certification (required).
  • Highly Desired:
    • Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (5 years highly desired).
    • Experience as a Project Manager within a Commonwealth of Virginia Executive Branch Agency (5 years highly desired).


Compensation: $75.00 per hour
