Summary: As the Project Procurement Director, you will lead the development and execution of comprehensive procurement strategies across large-scale construction projects. This role encompasses a wide array of responsibilities, from supporting preconstruction efforts to mentoring procurement teams, while ensuring optimal supplier performance and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop project purchasing strategies and ensure their effective execution.
- Manage the full procurement lifecycle, from sourcing to contract execution, for large construction projects.
- Collaborate closely with design and construction teams to integrate procurement efforts into broader project goals.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to procurement staff on both routine and complex projects.
- Set and monitor supplier performance goals, with a focus on cost, quality, and service levels.
- Oversee the competitive bidding process, supplier selection, contract negotiation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Negotiate commercial terms and resolve contractual issues, including claims and disputes.
- Conduct financial, commercial, and risk analysis to support procurement decisions.
- Identify and manage national and regional supplier relationships.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Procurement or Sourcing, ideally within the construction, manufacturing, energy, or high-tech industries.
- Experience managing procurement in a project-driven environment.
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities.
- Proficient in financial analysis and problem-solving.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
