The North Carolina League of Municipalities (NCLM) is seeking a Property and Casualty Claims Manager. This position is part of the Property and Casualty Claims team and is responsible for management and operational excellence of property and casualty claims department. P/C ensures claims are handled in accordance with Best Practices and sound claims principles. Managers leads department to provide exceptional customer service to members and their constituents. Duties include: assigning claims, providing meaningful direction to claims professionals, maintain active diaries on open claims, analyzing adjusters work, assisting adjusters in direction of attorneys, producing reports, addressing coverage issues, setting goals for staff and monitoring performance via established quality assurance program.

Minimum Qualifications:
Position requires at least five years of experience managing complex liability and property claims. Experience with municipal related liability claims is preferable. Must have experience managing a team of property and liability adjusters.
Preference given to Raleigh-based applicants; however, consideration will be given remote candidates in North Carolina possessing the requisite skill set. The League offers a generous benefits package with paid sick leave, holidays and vacation. The League also participates in the local government retirement system and additionally provides a 4% match to 401K and contributions to a health savings account.

Additional duties include:
- Responsible for overseeing and actively managing litigation via staff, determining coverage, and compliance with Best Practices.
- Must keep current on North Carolina case law and its on municipal operations.
- Responsible for managing property and liability reinsurance recoveries and assisting on assigned projects.
- Responsible for implementing processes to improve the claims management process.
- Responsible for responding to member's inquiries and assisting in presentations.
- Responsible for monitoring staff levels, determining training needs and performing any additional duties assigned.
