George Fox University announces the development of doctoral programs in the College of Nursing. The College of Nursing is seeking a program director for the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) DNP specialty track who is enthusiastic about developing this program, and preparing PMHNPs to work in rural settings throughout Oregon. The ideal candidate will have experience working in graduate nursing education and have a passion for serving vulnerable populations and underserved communities. The position is set to begin in summer 2025.

This is a 12-month position in the DNP program with leadership and administration of the Nurse-Midwifery program. This faculty-administrator role includes program development, faculty recruitment, accreditation oversight, student support, and fostering partnerships with clinical sites. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Leading the development and implementation of the DNP-PMHNP curriculum, ensuring it meets accreditation standards and best practices in psychiatric mental health nursing education.
- Establishing program goals, student learning outcomes, and assessment strategies to ensure excellence in education and clinical preparation.
- Overseeing program accreditation, preparing and submitting required reports and documentation.
- Developing and maintaining policies for admissions, student progression, and graduation in collaboration with university leadership.
- Managing the program budget, including planning, allocation of resources, and financial oversight to ensure program sustainability.
- Recruiting, mentoring, and evaluating faculty, ensuring a high-quality learning experience.
- Providing academic guidance and holistic support to students, fostering their spiritual and professional growth.
- Promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, supporting the university's Diversity Commitment Statement and creating an environment that welcomes students from all backgrounds.
- Actively participating in the admissions process, including reviewing applications, interviewing candidates, and making recommendations for program acceptance.
- Establishing and sustaining partnerships with healthcare systems, mental health facilities, and community organizations to secure clinical placements.
- Ensuring students meet clinical competency requirements through partnerships with preceptors and healthcare leaders.
- Representing the program at professional conferences, community events, and healthcare initiatives.
- Teaching within the DNP-PMHNP curriculum, integrating faith, ethics, and evidence-based practice.
- Engaging in scholarly activities, including research, presentations, and publications in psychiatric mental health nursing.
- Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
- By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
- Demonstrated experience working cross culturally with respect, appreciation and humility.

We're looking for candidates who have:
- An earned doctoral degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
- An active unencumbered Oregon APRN license.
- Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with an active, unencumbered RN and APRN license.
- Minimum five years of clinical experience as an APRN in psychiatric mental health nursing.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in an academic or clinical setting.
- Experience in teaching and learning principles for adult education, including online teaching.
- Current knowledge of APRN practice and related professional issues.
- Familiarity with nursing accreditation and regulatory processes (e.g., CCNE, state board requirements).
- A commitment to the University's .
- A desire to work with a diverse community of students and employees who represent various cultures, backgrounds, abilities, ethnicities, political views, and expressions of Christian faith.

Salary and rank:
- Appointment at the Assistant Professor level is anticipated, though candidates with significant teaching experience at previous institutions may be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor. Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable institutions.
