Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Mind Works specializes in children between the ages of 3 to 17 years and their caregivers. This is accomplished through an integrated healthcare approach to treatment that includes psychological, educational, developmental assessments; evidenced based psychotherapy; and medication assisted treatment.

Highlights of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Duties and Responsibilities

• Required Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner currently licensed without restrictions in the state of Texas
• Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will evaluate and manage new patients, requiring: a comprehensive history; a comprehensive examination; and medical decision-making of high complexity
• Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will evaluate and manage established patients, requiring: a comprehensive history; a comprehensive examination; medical decision-making of high complexity.
• Weigh the risks and benefits of initiating treatment with psychotherapeutic medications
• Conduct comprehensive multi-informant, multi-modal, multi-disciplinary assessments
• Routine monitoring for medication benefits and side-effects
• Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive assessments, psychoeducation, and clearly defined treatment expectations for different diagnosis such as ADHD, behavioral, anxiety, insomnia, depressive or obsessive-compulsive disorders
• Consider co-morbid developmental language disorder, Specific Learning Disorder or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will provide parent management/skills training or other behavioral interventions that can be used at home and/or school
• Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will provide medication assisted treatments for ADHD, anxiety, depressive and obsessive-compulsive disorders
• Maintain an open line of communication with care providers, patients, and their family members in order to efficiently address treatment concerns
• Performs other duties as assigned

• PMHNP with a collaborating physician (Required)
• DEA Certification
• At least one year of experience with child and adolescent assessment
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records
• Experience with TherapyNotes (Preferred)
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Pay:

$125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
