Description:
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is a hybrid full-time clinical behavioral health position responsible for the continuity care of a panel of adolescent clients in a residential setting for the care and treatment of psychiatric disorders. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will assess new clients admitted to residential care, work with the interdisciplinary team on diagnosis and treatment options, and manage their psychiatric care from admission through the duration of their care. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner also addresses co-occurring conditions directly when appropriate, as well as via referral and care coordination with outside providers. The NP participates actively in regular clinical team meetings and quality improvement activities and collaborates with our program psychiatrist, psychologist, therapists, nurses, case managers, and direct care team members.

Salary: $100,000.00-$140,000.00

What You'll Do:
- Provide psychiatric consultation, diagnostic, and treatment services to residents.
- Manage psychiatric medications and offer crisis intervention as part of the interdisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with the medical director to ensure all care meets state compliance and licensure requirements.
- Serve on-call for residential clients, offering critical after-hours support.
- Travel to at least one other Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch campus location to provide care.
What We're Looking For:
- Master's or Doctorate in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner.
- Valid North Dakota licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, ensuring effective collaboration with residents, families, and colleagues.
- A compassionate, empathetic approach with a deep commitment to mental health care.
- Current licensure by the applicable state board of nursing for advanced practice.
- Current DEA permit to prescribe controlled substances.
- Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
- Post-graduate clinical experience in a mental health setting (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications, psychopharmacology, and evidence-based treatment approaches.
