Description:
Are you a compassionate and skilled psychiatric nurse practitioner looking for a meaningful opportunity? Join our dedicated healthcare team at ARMS and help provide life-changing mental health services to the Birmingham community.
What You'll Do:
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including physical and psychosocial evaluations.
Diagnose mental health conditions and develop individualized treatment plans.
Prescribe medications and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests.
Provide counseling on topics such as substance use, lifestyle, and illness prevention.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.
Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
Perform related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For:
Master's degree in Psychiatric or Mental Health Nursing from an accredited program.
Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) by the ANCC.
Active and unrestricted license to practice in Alabama.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals with serious mental illness or substance use disorders (preferred).
Strong clinical judgment, empathy, and communication skills.
