Alberta Health Services in partnership with the University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, is inviting applications from Psychiatrists to provide part-time (0.5 FTE) psychiatric services to Addiction Services Edmonton (ASE).

Our multi-disciplinary teams consisting of nursing, psychiatry, psychology, occupational therapy, social work, education, and speech language pathology provide education and assistance for more than 1.4 million people in Edmonton and surrounding areas
The ASE site consists of addiction and concurrent disorders trained speciality staff delivering exceptional patient care. The site provides education and training to medical learners of all levels. The staff at the ASE is committed to a vision for a Centre of Excellence of Concurrent Disorders care.
ASE is actively recruiting an Addiction trained psychiatrist. In this role, the psychiatrist will assess, diagnosis, and treat adult patients with mental illness and substance use disorders. In addition, delivery of group treatment for patients with concurrent disorders will be a part of the position. This is a collaborative practice with a team of psychiatrists, addiction counsellors, mental health therapists and program staff. This position offers practice in an exception team environment with excellent administrative support.
The successful candidate should be committed to fulfilling clinical and non-clinical duties as a representative of the Department of Psychiatry and are encouraged to apply for a Clinical Academic Colleague appointment. They will have an MD and must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Psychiatry, for licensure in the province of Alberta and have additional certification or experience in Addiction Psychiatry.
