PSYCHIATRIST (Adult and Pediatric)
DePaul Community Health Centers (formerly Daughters of Charity Health Centers) operates multiple Federally Qualified Health Centers in the Greater New Orleans area. DCHC is committed to improving the health status of communities and continues a long tradition of health ministry. DCHC is seeking a full-time staff Psychiatrist to provide clinical care for Community Health Centers. The Psychiatrist treats or directs treatment of recipients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications. The Psychiatrist operates as part of a team with other clinic providers and support staff in accordance with the scope of DCHC operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides comprehensive clinical services to patients within the clinic
- Performs general psychiatric assessments to determine the nature and extent of mental disorders and formulate a treatment program
- Provides direction, as needed, in crisis and potential need for hospitalization
- Responsible for documentation of psychiatric evaluations and/or treatment within DCHC standards of operation
- Must have experience working with diverse population
- Must be a critical thinker with the ability to problem solve
- Must have excellent communication skills, including verbal and written
QUALIFICATIONS
- Doctorate of Medicine from an accredited medical college. Completion of Specialized Residency in Psychiatry. Must be board certified or board eligible psychiatrist.
- Board-certified licensed medical doctor. Must be authorized to practice psychiatry in Louisiana and enrolled to participate in the Louisiana Medicaid Program.
- Current license from Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners, current DEA number, current controlled substance registration certificate, Professional Liability Insurance
- The physician must hold an unrestricted license to practice medicine in Louisiana and unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and state and federal controlled substances licenses. If licenses are held in more than one state or jurisdiction, all licenses held by the physician must be documented in the personnel record and also be unrestricted.
