Winnebago Mental Health Institute (WMHI), located near Oshkosh Wisconsin, is looking to fill a Psychiatrist Position. This position will typically work from 8:00am-4:30pm M-F with occasional on-call responsibilities as needed by the facility . WMHI is a part of the Department of Health Services (DHS), Division of Care and Treatment Services (DCTS) and is a psychiatric hospital providing quality mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults.

As a psychiatrist, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Salary Information
The total salary for full-time employees may be up $349,200 annually, depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. The salary includes add-on pay for persons who are Board Certified or Board Eligible. A 12-month probationary period is required.
Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is in pay schedule and range 10/52.

All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by the facility or medical personnel directed by the facility prior to their start date.

Position Summary
As a psychiatrist, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Performing psychiatric exams.
- Prescribing medications and treatments.
- Consulting with patients and families.
- Participating in and/or conducting in service meetings, staffings, and case conferences.
- Providing consultation to community agencies.
- Participating in training of resident, medical students, and unit staff.

Qualifications

- Possession of a license to practice medicine in the State of Wisconsin or ability to obtain the license prior to the appointment.
- Candidate must be one of the following:
- Board Certified.
- Board Eligible as defined by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. (ABPN). In order to be considered Board Eligible, candidates:
- Must be within the last 2 years of a Psychiatry residency program. Candidates are expected to become Board Certified within 1 year of program graduation.
- OR have completed a Psychiatry Residency Program within the last 7 years. Candidates are expected to become Board Certified within 1 year of hire.
- OR be in the process of taking the Board exam. Candidates are expected to become Board Certified within 1 year of hire.
- Experience working with Cerner.
- Experience leading a treatment team and supervising the work of Physician Assistants and Advanced Practice Nurse Prescribers.
- Experience working with civil commitments.
- Experience teaching medical students and residents.
