Job Description
Under direction, with broad latitude for independent or unreviewed action or decision, performs difficult and responsible professional work and/or supervisory work of ordinary professional difficulty and responsibility in the field of psychology, and related work. Typical tasks include but are not limited to:

Typical tasks include but are not limited to:
Evaluation and treatment of assigned patients, including inpatient re-evaluation, treatment planning, behavior planning if indicated, coordination of care with inpatient team, outpatient providers, and defense counsel as indicated, and individual and group psychotherapy.
Documentation in medical record, including of initial inpatient assessment, weekly treatment plans and updates/reviews, daily progress notes, and discharge documentation.
Psychological assessment including use of assessment measures specific to forensic practice such as measures of malingering. This also includes informal assessment of appropriateness for referral for assessment, formal documentation of referral, administration, scoring, and interpretation of formal measures, appropriate documentation of testing sessions and final report in medical record etc.
Minimum Qualifications
SPECIAL NOTE # = Additional Requirements for Assignment Level III
For assignment to Assignment Level III, individuals must have the following in addition to meeting the minimum Qualification Requirements for Assignment Level I above:
A. The Doctoral Degree in Psychology as described under Special Note A. for Assignment Level II, and
B. A valid license as a Psychologist issued by the New York State Department of Education; and
C. Four years of satisfactory full-time experience in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, School Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Clinical Health Psychology, or Neuro-Psychology, of which at least one year must have been under the direct supervision of a qualified Psychologist or Psychiatrist, and at least three years must have been in a supervisory capacity as a licensed Psychologist.
D. License Requirements for Assignment Level III
For assignment to Assignment Level III, a valid license as a Psychologist issued by the New York State Department of Education. This license must be maintained for the duration of the assignment.
