Position Description
Surrey Place is seeking a Psychologist to support our Adult Services and Services for Partners and Organizations Department. Reporting to the Manager, Adult Services, the Psychologist I works as part of an interdisciplinary team and provides psychological services to adults with developmental disabilities. Services provided include but are not limited to assessment, psychotherapy, consultation, research, education, clinical supervision, and advocacy. This position will be a hybrid position with a flexible schedule.

Position Description
Surrey Place is seeking a Psychologist to support our Adult Services and Services for Partners and Organizations Department. Reporting to the Manager, Adult Services, the Psychologist I works as part of an interdisciplinary team and provides psychological services to adults with developmental disabilities. Services provided include but are not limited to assessment, psychotherapy, consultation, research, education, clinical supervision, and advocacy. This position will be a hybrid position with a flexible schedule.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide psychological assessment written reports, and recommendations for adults and transition aged youth with developmental disabilities.
- Provide psychotherapy interventions to individuals, families, and groups.
- Assist in promoting business development by taking part in our fee for service initiatives aimed at identify and developing business opportunities with other agencies
- Work independently and collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to provide both assessment and treatment services.
- Provide consultation regarding psychological services to individuals, families, partner agencies, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Some travel required.
- Additional duties may include: creating and/or presenting educational materials, or other program development.
Qualifications
- PhD or Psy.D in Psychology
- Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario.
- 3 years' clinical experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical interviewing, diagnosis and formulation, consultation; knowledge of typical and atypical lifespan development; knowledge of specialized interventions for adults with developmental disabilities; experience with a broad range of psychometric tools and principles; and statistical knowledge.
- Demonstrated experience working with adults, and experience participating on an interdisciplinary team.
- Experience with neuropsychological assessment tools is an asset.
- The ability to work with individuals across the lifespan is an asset.
- Leadership skills and proven experience in mentoring and developing staff and students.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal, problem solving; and time management skills.
- Ownership or access to a vehicle would be an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
- The successful candidate must provide an acceptable Police Records Check (Vulnerable Sector Screening) and proof of being fully vaccinated for Covid-19.
- Fluency in a second language is considered an asset.
