The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill a Psychologist Supervisor position located at Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, WI (Columbia County).

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the overall administration and supervision of the Psychological Services Unit at the assigned institution. This oversight is accomplished in accordance with the administrative priorities set by the Warden/Deputy Warden and the clinical priorities set by the Mental Health and Psychology Directors.

The Psychologist Supervisor is responsible for the development, administration, supervision and coordination of all psychological services programs within the facility.

This position also provides direct services to persons in our care and provides consultation to institution administration and staff.

This position supervises the Psychological Services Unit staff, develops staff development programs, and provides direct training to staff.

This position administers the psychological services program to provide support services and ensure compliance with State and Federal guidelines and program standards, as well as managing an Affirmative Action Plan and Health and Safety program within the work unit.

Salary Information

This position is in pay schedule and range 81-02 with a starting pay of $50.83/hour - $55.16/hour .

(Minimum effective annual salary including the two add-ons below would be: $130728/year.)

Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A two-year Career Executive trial period will be required, or for those with permanent status as a Career Executive, a twelve-month probationary period may be required instead.

Additional Pay:

Employees in possession of a Doctorate of Psychology (or equivalent) may be eligible for supplemental pay of an additional $6.00 per hour.

Employees in possession of a permanent License to practice Psychology may be eligible for supplemental pay of an additional $5.00 per hour.

Job Details

The opportunity for remote work will depend on the needs of the institution at the time.

Any remote work must be performed from Wisconsin.

Anticipated schedule will be Monday - Friday 7:45 AM - 4:30 PM. Some flexibility in start time may be available. This position is FLSA Exempt.

This position is not anticipated to travel on a regular basis, but most DOC positions occasionally travel for training, meetings, conferences, or similar events.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.

The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

Qualifications

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Applicants must possess current Wisconsin licensure as a Psychologist or be licensed in another state and be eligible to obtain Wisconsin licensure by time of appointment. Employees must maintain licensure during employment.
  • Applicants must obtain certification in CPR by the American Heart Association and training in use of the AED within three months of hire and maintain certification throughout employment.
