The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting candidates for a challenging and rewarding position as a Psychologist Supervisor . This position will be located at Wisconsin Secure Program Facility in Boscobel, WI (Grant County).

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the overall administration of the Psychological Services Unit at the Wisconsin Secure Program Facility (WSPF). The incumbent will develop, administer, supervise and coordinate the Psychological Services Unit program within the facility. This position supervises the psychological staff; provides direct services to offenders; provides consultation to institution administration and staff; provides clinical and behavioral training; administers the clinical program to provide support services and ensure compliance with State and Federal guidelines and program standards; and also manages a Affirmative Action Plan and Health and Safety program within assigned responsibility areas. This position works collaboratively with the Warden, Deputy Warden, DOC Mental Health and Psychology Directors in the planning and administration of psychological services, as well as daily with other staff involving a variety of disciplines from many department within the institution in the delivery of treatment services to persons in our care.

Salary Information

This position is in pay schedule/range 81-02 with a starting pay of $51.85/hour - $55.16/hour , depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. With an add-on of up to $6.00 per hour (annually $12480) for an approved Doctorate in Psychology or a related field and $5.00 add on (annually $10400) for being licensed.

Employees in possession of a Doctorate of Psychology (or equivalent) may be eligible for supplemental pay of an additional $6.00 per hour ($12480).

Employees in possession of a permanent License to practice Psychology may be eligible for supplemental pay of an additional $5.00 per hour ($10400).

Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the State Compensation Plan, Wisconsin Administrative Code, and statutes.

A two year Career Executive probation period is required

Job Details

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.

The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

Qualifications

  • Applying the theory, principles and practices of appropriate psychology subject matter areas, including the psychology of personality, developmental psychology, psychopathology, and psychometrics
  • Application of clinical treatment methodology and concepts
  • Using approved diagnostic and psychotherapeutic methods and techniques of clinical psychology
  • Appropriate application of fundamental individual and group psychotherapy approaches
  • Program development, implementation and administration.
  • Conducting psychological evaluations
  • Clinical supervision and training others
  • General supervisory principles, practices, and techniques.

Special Requirement:

Applicants must possess a current Psychologist license granted by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services or be licensed in another state. If licensed in another state you must obtain your Wisconsin license by date of appointment.
