Job Title: Seasonal Physical Therapist

License: Must hold a valid permanent license as a Physical Therapist from the relevant state board
Certifications: Must provide proof of 2 hours of CVA specific continuing education obtained within the recent 4 months
Must-Have: Minimum of one of the following as a Licensed Physical Therapist:
1 year of full-time acute care specific experience or 2 years of skilled nursing/inpatient rehab facility experience or 2 years of acute care specific experience when in the context of working less than full-time hours in this area of practice

Description:
The Seasonal Physical Therapist is responsible for the implementation of the physician's order for physical therapy services.
They should provide all necessary aspects of physical therapy within an interdisciplinary environment to facilitate the return of the patient to as independent and safe a lifestyle as possible.
The therapist must utilize a growth and development knowledge base in the care of children, adolescents, and geriatric patients.
They demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
Also, they demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status.
The therapist interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs and provides the care needed.
The professional is able to perform patient evaluations using appropriate functional tests/measures.
They demonstrate the ability to assimilate objective measures along with social factors, medical stability, activity restrictions, participation limitations, or other relative comorbidities.
They determine functional deficits and construct short-term goals, long-term goals, and personal/family goals with an appropriate frequency and duration to establish the therapy diagnosis and appropriate plan of care.
They demonstrate the ability to tolerate physically demanding tasks of moving equipment and patients, utilizing safety measures for both self and patients per the physical/environmental demands specified.
The therapist demonstrates proper, secure documentation in the electronic medical record.
They demonstrate the ability to use critical thinking with patient evaluation and treatment planning.
They understand moist heat and other physical agent modalities commonly used as these apply to each area of practice.
They utilize age-specific patient care indicators as necessary or indicated per the plan of care.
The therapist demonstrates an understanding of the musculoskeletal, nervous, and integumentary systems utilizing age-specific patient care indicators as it relates to each structure.
They appropriately identify the learning needs of patients or family members.
They work as a team member to assist patient/family at all points of entry into the acute therapy care system.

Constant walking, balancing, standing, turning, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, handling, hand and finger movements, and wrist movements are expected.
Frequent stooping, crouching, and sitting occur.
Occasional running, climbing, and kneeling may be needed.
The candidate must be able to use visual acuity for close paperwork, color vision, and depth perception.
Hearing acuity for conversation, monitoring equipment, and telephone transcription in background noise is required.
The ability to lift, handle, push, and pull up to 50 pounds is necessary.
The therapist must be able to operate blood pressure machines, pulse oximetry, wheelchairs, walkers, and other pertinent assistive devices.
