Overview

The Purchasing Director is responsible for overseeing all procurement activities for the RV Parts Distribution Warehouse. This role involves strategic sourcing, vendor management, inventory planning, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing to support the warehouse's operational needs and customer demands. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics, and experience in the RV parts or automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities

- Strategic Procurement: Develop and implement purchasing strategies to secure high-quality RV parts and materials at competitive prices.

- Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and evaluate vendor performance to ensure reliability and cost efficiency.

- Inventory Oversight: Collaborate with warehouse and sales teams to forecast demand, manage stock levels, and prevent overstocking or shortages of critical RV parts.

- Cost Control: Monitor market trends, analyze pricing, and identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality.

- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of purchasing agents, setting goals, providing training, and ensuring alignment with company objectives.

- Compliance: Ensure all purchasing activities adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.

- Data Analysis: Utilize procurement software and data analytics to track purchasing metrics, optimize processes, and report on performance to senior management.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with logistics, sales, and finance teams to align purchasing decisions with operational and budgetary goals.

Requirements

Qualifications

- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

- Experience in RV parts, automotive, or distribution industries is highly preferred.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Skills

- Exceptional negotiation and vendor relationship management skills.

- Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Excellent communication and leadership skills.

- Knowledge: Familiarity with RV parts, components, and industry trends is strongly desired.

Working Conditions

- Full-time position based at the RV Parts Distribution Warehouse.
