Purchasing & Inventory Manager - $80-85K + Bonus
Role Summary:
The Purchasing/Inventory Manager performs management of the purchasing process for the company while managing inventory movement, distribution and control of those items for all company locations. The Manager will work with each location to identify the products that are to be purchased, identify the most appropriate supplier for the products, confirm all aspects of pricing, confirm all deliveries and maintain an inventory control database. The manager will also work with maintaining proper levels of inventory and accuracy of fleet with the operating and project management system. To include monitoring movement of equipment through the fleet tracking system. This position will, internally, be a resource for cost management through spending control while, externally, developing a resource for customer service notification. The position reports to the CFO and functional coordination with National Operations Manager and will require travel.
Essential Job Functions:
Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain
Work with company department managers to determine purchasing needs and requirements for production and office products
Identify the most appropriate supplier for the designated product, determine availability, perform comparative pricing and negotiate pricing, confirm quality of products and establish delivery requirements/timelines
Oversee input and maintenance of online database of all products; maintains regular inventory update
Identify and resolve any and all issues related to product quality, pricing, delivery, utilization and loss.
Perform inventory cycle counts, spot counts and month end reconciliation process; research any variances and authorize appropriate inventory adjustments
Update company on any new products that may be more efficient or cost effective, obsolete products, product trends
Conduct records audit of inventory, adjustments and other metrics and prepare monthly/ quarterly/ annual reports of findings to management
Supervise and Support Equipment Movement and Freight, Custom Critical Document Transport for Information Security, Ocean Shipments.
Manage relationship with preferred logistic vendors for service level and pricing. Report on potential savings on centralized and local freight cost.
Manage business partner contracts
Manage Fleet Vehicles
Manage Field Equipment Inventory for serialized equipment.
Manage and support service locations with non-serialized equipment inventory
In coordination with Ops Managers, ensure field system is updated with status/readiness of equipment and prepares accurate and timely equipment location and availability reports.
Job Qualifications:
Hands on experience in both performing purchasing function and managing/supervising purchasing process
Experience managing vendor negotiations
Experience with fleet and supply inventory systems and practices
Understanding of computer systems, application development and troubleshooting
Two years of project management experience and two years supervisory experience in a service industry preferred
Must have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills along with technical skills
Must be Team oriented and professional manner
Ability to perform duties that are physical in nature
Willing to work overtime when needed
Willing to travel on short notice, sometimes for extended duration (typically 1-3 weeks)
Strong problem-solving skills
Experience and proficient in database management, analyzing and reporting data regarding inventory issues, results, trends, solutions
Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and ability to exercise independent judgment
Must be detail-oriented
Excellent communication skills, both in oral and written medium
Minimum Training Requirements and Competencies:
Proficient in Microsoft office, Google and ERP (Engineering, Resource and Planning) software
