Responsibilities:

• Propose improvements to the current purchasing system that will improve vendor relationships and lower the cost of doing business.
• Collaborate with inventory control and sales to develop metrics for gauging inventory level needs and then maintaining those levels
  throughout the year.
• Take the lead in creating profitable ways to manage obsolete and slow moving stock to help offset losses.
• Manage the company's day to day purchasing activities and ensure that all purchasing agents are meeting their personal performance standards using the Performance Development Review form.
• Responsible for training buyers and sales on best practices using the inventory control system and setting parameters to accomplish the goal.
• Evaluate suppliers, maintain contracts, negotiate prices, review product quality and delivery performance.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key vendors.
• Identify and source new suppliers and vendors.
• Manage risk relating to quality, cost, delivery and supply of purchases.
• Manage and develop purchasing team
• Communicate with regional presidents on goals, vendors, and performance.

Requirements:

• College Degree preferred
• 3+ years of electrical product knowledge and previous management experience
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Strong process orientation and systems-thinking capability
• Proven attentiveness to detail coupled with problem analysis and resolution skills
• Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all organizational members
• Demonstrated time management and organizational skills, including an ability to plan and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Ability to travel to other office locations (10% - 15% travel)
