We are a growing organization, and we are seeking a Purchasing Manager to join our Shared Services division. Together, with the momentum of our business vision, we can achieve international success and added innovation in all of the themes which Drr influences at a global level.

Location: DePere, Wisconsin

Position Summary: The Purchasing Manager is responsible for the negotiation with vendors for the purchase of materials, supplies, process equipment, raw material and services used by Drr Systems, Inc (CTS Division focus but also cross Divisional support).

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Negotiate with suppliers for goods and services, negotiating the best possible price and service, meeting quality and schedule requirements (incl. coordination of delivery control/ expediting)
  • Develop new supply sources as required
  • Examine bids and make awards, including creation of negotiation documents/ protocols
  • Negotiate blanket purchase orders when appropriate and monitor cost during the time period
  • Attend and actively participate at Project Meetings
  • Establish account/credit and terms
  • Interaction with other departments internally and Durr globally / other Divisions, as necessary, to assure a successful project completion and common understanding
  • Establish, renew and maintain frame agreements for all related purchases
  • Responsible for travel management activities
  • Develop project equipment scheduling
  • Develop innovative ideas and incorporate them effectively into the work process
  • Establish Purchasing policies and ensure compliance to local/ global processes/ rules
  • Support SAP audits/ external audits as necessary
  • Purchasing quality program maintenance, continuous improvement function to BOS
  • Responsible for Vendor Diversity process
  • Support import/export management
  • Work closely with Receiving Department to ensure supplies arrive according to contract terms
  • Supervision of buyers
  • Provide career guidance/development through informal feedback and the formal employee review process
  • Manage SRM activities
  • Create and execute standard purchasing reports
  • Coordinate employee relocations
  • Follow cost trends and forecasting market trends

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in a business related area (i.e. Engineering, Business) preferred
  • Working knowledge of automotive and industrial paint shop equipment and environmental equipment OR general construction management knowledge of at least 5 years
  • Project management experience, for multi-million dollar projects preferred
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and technical documents such as specifications and schedules
  • Ability to read and understand contract terms & conditions and related commercial documents
  • Understand required sequencing and scheduling for equipment build on typical project
  • Understand manufacturing processes and equipment used
  • Superior negotiation skills
  • Strong organization skills along with demonstrated ability to maintain office efficiency
  • Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization as well as external contacts
  • Ability to lead a team and foster teamwork among team members
  • Solid decision making skills
  • Proficient with MS Office, Word, Excel
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Willing to travel as required (10-20%)


Physical Demands: While performing duties of job, incumbent is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach, use hands and arms as well as hear and talk. This is sedentary work that involves sitting most of the time. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and distance vision.
