POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Supply Chain Management will be responsible for integrating and improving all of the processes and procedures within the sourcing, procurement, supply chain planning, and transportation/logistics functions. He/she will provide hands-on leadership, sharp focus, and the development of strategic and tactical objectives for the accurate and successful execution of the supply chain. This includes providing leadership across the business unit, embracing an operational excellence philosophy, and providing a high level of customer service/satisfaction both internally and externally, while managing through widely changing workloads, greatly varying projects, and rapidly shifting priorities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for providing priorities, leadership and reliability in effective and efficient procurement, purchasing and delivery of materials and products to operations by ensuring the purchasing, operation can proactively, effectively and efficiently meet all customer orders and delivery schedules
• Maintain strong supplier and customer relationships
• Develop "lean" supply chain processes, and continuous improvement methodologies to ensure reliable and constant improvements in their operational efficiency, productivity, and utilization.
• Establish, realign, and implement an integrated supply chain service which will provide the effective and cost-efficient management of materials through the supply chain including sourcing, procurement, planning/scheduling, delivery inside the plant, transportation, and logistics.
• Quickly develop and implement realistic and scalable supply chain OpEx strategies, timetables, budgets, policies, and procedures that will meet the company's goals for a completely integrated supply chain model that provide customer satisfaction, quality/reliability, growth, continuous improvement, on-time delivery and profitability.
• Mentor and lead direct reports and their respective staffs in the performance of their responsibilities so to attain consistent success relative to established priorities and schedules.
• Recruit, train, develop, and motivate highly skilled purchasing, planning, and transportation professionals, as required. Ensure that these individuals are technically competent, service-oriented supply chain problem solvers. Enhance the professional caliber of individuals through appropriate hiring practices, training programs, team building exercise, personnel accountability, and evaluation, and leading-by-example with a fair and consistent management style that is in a manner consistent with a positive values, integrity, and culture.
• Develop and execute supplier performance standards and scorecards that would measure the quality of their activities such as on-time delivery and defect rates etc.
• Coordinate with the sales, marketing, and research and development organizations to develop accurate sales forecasts for supply chain planning and preferred inventory levels for all standard products to assure the availability of products as defined by sales fulfillment and distribution plans.
• Ensure that the Sourcing and Purchasing departments provide timely procurement of externally supplied materials and finished good products that meet specifications at the highest quality and at the lowest cost per value with just-in-time delivery and follow establish processes.
• Review, refine, oversee forecast, planning, and scheduling system to ensure that the demand and supply levels are consistent, correct, and provide the proper guidance of raw materials and finished goods relative to operations productivity and schedule attainment.
• Keep abreast of the latest worldwide sourcing/purchasing and supply chain, developments, best practice methodologies, and advanced technologies to ensure the highest competency and impact to the business.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement/Purchasing, Materials Management, Operations, Logistics, Business or equivalent. Master's degree is a plus.

Experience: 10 years working experience in supply chain/ logistics management and leadership experience in progressively responsible positions in a divisional supply chain-based environment.

• Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills, as well as ability to establish credibility throughout the organization with employees, suppliers, and customers.
• Skilled at analytical thinking, communication, coordination, active listening, critical thinking, time management, team building, mentoring, negotiations, and diplomacy
• Have a proven history of progressive advancements in responsibilities, authorities, and achievements in successfully leading a well-run supply chain management team, ideally with global experience.

Computer Skills: Working knowledge of current technologies, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access as well as material handling and scheduling systems, e-procurement tools such as IPR, Oracle, etc. Good experience with MRP/ERP systems is required. Bar coding experience is a plus.
