Overview

This dynamic role provides dual support for the QC Laboratory and Production; working with the Sr. QA Laboratory Engineer and the Operational Quality Engineers located in Waters Milford, MA facility.

In this role, the Laboratory Engineer II will investigate and analyze various samples in support of Quality, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, R&D, Test Engineering, Reliability Engineering and Design Engineering. This individual will analyze molecular contamination for adherence to critical clean specifications, drive quality improvements in equipment and process, and support the design and release or new product. The Laboratory Engineer II will assist in the design and validation of analytical test methods, execute and analyze results, and report conclusions. This role will additionally be the direct quality support for a chemistry based manufacturing process, conducting investigation for root cause, implementing correction actions, and leading process improvement activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform wet lab techniques
  • Untargeted LC-MS analysis
  • LC-TUV analysis
  • Participate in experimental design
  • Take part in validation activities
  • Prepare data reports
  • Contribute to procedure writing
  • Laboratory housekeeping
  • Provide quality support for production of chemistry product
  • Investigate nonconformances, identify root cause, and implement CA/PA
  • Lead improvement activities related to product and process quality in conjunction with Operations


Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelors,or Masters, Degree in Science (Chemistry, Biomchemistry, Molecular Biology), Engineering (Chemical, Materials, Environmental) or technical field with emphasis on laboratroy and analytical skills.

Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of industry experial (Diagnostircs devices, pharma, biotech)
  • Minimum 3 years of laboratory equipment
  • Practiced experience with mass spectromtery, liquid chromatography, or similar analytical techniques
  • Professional focus within lab release testing, manufacturing, or production roles
  • Exposure to process and/or software validation methods.
  • Excellent report writing and attention to detail
  • Root cause investigation skills with use of common RCA tools
  • Project management skills, exceptional organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and commitment to client satisfaction

Desired Qualifications:
  • Laboratory experience within a Quality Assurance/Control Laboratory
  • Experience using Waters liquid Chromstographs and mass spectrometeres (UNIFI, Empower,MassLynx softwares)
