POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer for WRPS is responsible for providing quality assurance engineering services in support of Hanford Tanks Waste Operations and Closure (H2C) activities.
The main duties include, but are not limited to:
*Support the implementation of the ITDC Quality Assurance program, including non-conformance reporting, suspect and counterfeit item reporting, and software quality assurance oversight.
* Develop, review, and approve procedures, processes, and instructions
* Track and manage the flow down of Quality Assurance Program Description (QAPD) requirements into implementing procedures using the site-wide requirements tracking tool.
* Prepare and submit monthly performance indicators and support management review meetings as required.
* Develop and implement improvements in the Quality Assurance (QA) Key Performance Indicators (KPI) suite of KPIs.
* Use mathematical modeling, statistical analysis, and other advanced analytical techniques to examine quality processes and performance data to identify any potential adverse trends.
* Conduct qualitative and quantitative trending based on data from various issues management systems.
* Collaborate with other quality assurance organizations to understand their needs and challenges and develop and implement solutions to meet these needs.
* Demonstrate understanding of the application of Documented Safety Analysis (DSA) and Technical Safety Requirements (TSR) and review and approve safety basis documents.
* Lead project-wide system audits as directed by principal quality assurance engineer or program management.
* Write quality plans, procedures, and audit checklists.
* Verify quality standards and test procedures for design and process evaluation to attain quality economically and efficiently.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Engineering, Science or related field and 7+ years related experience, or
AA plus 16 years' experience, or
HS Degree plus 20 years' experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
- Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening.
- Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.
- Possess strong risk-based decision-making skills.
- Effective written, listening, and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications.
- Knowledge to interpret design documents (e.g., specifications).
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Quality assurance experience in nuclear quality assurance programs.
- Previous experience in Department of Energy (DOE) O414.1D and American Society of Mechanical Engineers ASME NQA-1.
- Previous experience in the development and maintenance of quality assurance programs
- Previous or current qualification as an Auditor or Lead Auditor
- Previous or current qualification in Six-Sigma (Yellow Belt, Green Belt, Black Belt)
- Experience with performance measuring and improvement
