Description of Work
This position consists of professional work in the planning, developing, and administering of a quality assurance program within the Alcoholism and Chemical Dependency Programs section. The position serves as the quality assurance component for substance use disorder treatment programs that includes nineteen prison-based substance use disorder treatment programs located throughout the state; and two community-based residential substance use disorder treatment programs, a male facility located in Goldsboro and a female facility located in Black Mountain, NC. The work requires an understanding of data collection/analysis techniques; independent judgment and analysis in order to determine the appropriate course of action; and knowledge of application standards, credentialing requirements, operational requirements, and budgetary constraints in formulating an approach to quality assurance maintenance and providing management with effective advice on compliance issues. This position reports directly to the Section Chief. This position requires occasional travel with overnight stay.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:
  • Documented skill with the design and implementation of assessment tools used in quality assurance activities to include knowledge of the NC E-Procurement system.
  • Documented ability to utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook and/or similar software and effectively communicate (verbally and written) outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing performance improvement initiatives that include that focus on program auditing and policy implementation.
  • Demonstrated experience in health information management, compliant with applicable privacy laws to include managing the release of client records and responding to legal requests.

Master's degree in psychology, social work, education, health, business administration or related human service field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in professional level treatment programming for the applicable client population;

Bachelor's degree in one of the fields listed above from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience as indicated above; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
