Job Description

Elluminates Software Corporation is looking for a full-time Quality Assurance Tester. This position is in support of the Depart ment of State (DOS) as a part of the Vanguard 2.2.1 contract. The Vanguard 2.2.1 program provides transparent, interconnected systems and security support for the Department of State (DOS) Bureau of Information Resource Management (IRM) program. The IRM program enables the Department of State to successfully carry out its foreign policy mission by providing enterprise architecture design, engineering, operations and maintenance support services for data center services, desktop computers, servers, networks, firewalls, voice and data communications and other unique enterprise applications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• IT infrastructure testing, evaluating and validating:
  • if the design satisfies requirements
  • for design flaws
  • for system functionality
  • for high availability and reliability
  • impacts of various networking constraints (variable bandwidth and latency)
• Software development testing, evaluating and validating:
  • if code implementations/changes do what it is intended to do
  • if code implementations/changes have adverse impacts (bugs)
  • if code implementations/changes
• Develop QA test plans that validate systems for transition to O&M
• Follow and keep a thorough understanding of the design and technologies used for the infrastructure and code deployments
• Produce well written and understandable reports for all tests

Required Qualifications

• Having experience testing IT infrastructure systems for:
  • reliability, design flaws, system functionality
• Having experience testing software implementations/changes
• Have a solid working knowledge of testing:
  • in the context of IT infrastructure deployments
  • in the context of IT infrastructure changes
  • in the context of software development
• Have a solid working knowledge of:
  • virtualization technology, especially vSphere
  • networking and security concepts, especially TCP/IP, perimeter firewalls, distributed firewall
• Candidate must be self-driven to develop their own testing plan, scripts, etc. and carry them out with little supervision

Desired Qualifications

• Familiarity with the following:
  • Infrastructure as Code (Ansible)
  • Storage technology (SAN, NAS, distributed, etc.)
  • Cloud Native concepts and technologies
  • Containerization and orchestration
• The ability to learn new concepts and technologies
• Ability to be articulate and succinct; in written and verbal communications, especially in test reports

Years of Experience and Education Requirements

• 5 years of working experience in infrastructure and/or software testing
• Bachelors' degree in computer related field ( may accept additional experience in lieu of degree.)
