The Opportunity:
CACI is looking for a Quality Control Engineer to add to its Product Assurance team in Albuquerque, NM. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and an independent thinker needing minimal oversight. This candidate will think out of the box creating innovative quality control processes that exceed customer expectations. The QC Engineer will ensure that products are designed, built, and produced per customer specifications, and government and quality requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Facilitates planning and development of quality control systems for specified products or processes.
  • Collaborates with representatives from various functional groups assigned to the product or program including but not limited to design engineering, purchasing, production, manufacturing engineering, and inspection staff to ensure customer quality requirements are met.
  • Reviews design, manufacturing, and testing documentation to include Statement of Work, drawings, and other contractual or purchasing requirements.
  • Coordinates and performs inspections of raw materials and finished products, applying appropriate quality assurance testing models.
  • Identifies the root cause of quality problems, and coordinates modifications or other corrective actions.
  • Offers technical guidance and support in response to quality testing and analysis.
  • Ensures contract compliance by reviewing and approving quality requirements for supplier purchase orders, manufacturing, and other related services.
  • Author internal QC procedures, checklists, and forms.
  • Oversee Work Orders (WOs) assigned to QC, report status updates, completion of assignments, review and sign-off on QC documentation ensuring all records are attached and the story is told before the WO is closed. Self-identify QCs needed during project meetings.
  • As the primary third party Quality Control oversight make recommendations of new process controls while continuing to provide flexibility within our processes to not impact delivery schedules.
  • May be requested to attend engineering or technician trainings for better process understanding
  • Proficient at understanding of Technical Orders and MIL-STDs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Periodically travel to supplier sites for pre-acceptance of high risk equipment.


Qualifications:

Required:
  • An Active Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with at least five years of related experience, required; OR Associates degree with related coursework plus a certified quality engineer certificate required.
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering.
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn the company's quality control system.
  • Proficient at reading technical drawings.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to create reports of the results of inspections and measurements, collect and summarize quality data, and maintain records in a matrix format to present to management.
  • Create and present measurements of performance.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


Desired:
  • 10 years or related experience
  • Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Prior Engineering or Technical position

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$59,100 - $124,100
