Description:

**Summary: **Plans, coordinates, and directs quality assurance program designed to ensure food safety, regulatory compliance and product quality within the production environment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities **include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Ensure that the all employees are following guidelines set forth by Superior Farms Policies and Procedures; including: HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, BRC audit requirements and SOPs.
  • Test and inspect product, ingredients, and materials used at all stages of production for conformance to company standards.
  • Further develop and deploy quality systems.
  • Oversee the training of plant employees in accordance with the quality, sanitation and HACCP programs.
  • Coordinate with a third-party sanitation company and federal inspectors.
  • Track and coordinate nonconformance issues within and between departments.
  • Prepare facility for GFSI certification.
  • Train and mentor the Assistant Quality Control manager in development and implementation of policies and procedures.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four-year college or university; 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be able to interface well with all employees of the Company and to represent the Company in a highly professional manner. Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Must be multi-task oriented.

**Certificates and Licenses: **

HACCP Certification

GFSI Certification - Preferably BRC

Animal Welfare Training - PAACO or training from a PACCO trained individual preferred

**Supervisory Responsibilities: **

This person will manage multiple employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these applicable units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Language Ability:

Ability to understand written and verbal instructions. Ability to effectively read, speak and communicate in English and ability to effectively present information verbally one-on-one and in group situations to customers, vendors and other employees. Ability to analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

**Reasoning Ability: **

Ability to interact and draw valid conclusions. Ability to react, respond and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

**Computer Skills: **

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of various computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation and/or ERP software as well as the ability to type and perform 10 key by touch if germane to your position.

Salary info:

$38.46 - $40.87 / hr
