Salary: $58-$60/hr.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a Validation Engineer in the Power Electronics & Motor Validation & Verification Team, you will be joining an innovative team on the cutting edge of electrification. The Power Electronics & Motor team is part of the Electrification + Energy Solutions (E+ES) organization and is responsible for end-to-end design and development of power electronics and motor solutions for multiple mobile and stationary applications. Our group ensures that our Power Electronics and Motor components meet or exceed our customer requirements through proactive validation planning rigor and verification testing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position's Contributions to Work Group:
- Assess and plan work to mitigate risk in NTI and NPI programs.
- Work with design leads to establish an initial first-pass test plan early in a program (pick list review to document leverage opportunity, VPD and potential test load).
- Participate in or Plan and Host Simulation and Test Collaboration Workshops (STCW) early in programs, pre-DFMEA to create high-level Validation Plan.
- Communicate progress in Gateway Reviews including System Readiness Summaries.
- Quality approval of FMEA / DVP&R with design managers with key focus of developing standard FMEA's.
- Creation of Proactive Reliability glidepaths.
- Standard work creation, updating, and socialization.
- Project long-term testing needs, including lab space, equipment and people.
- SME for myNPI issues meetings and issue resolution.
- HALT planning assistance but not ownership.
- APQP Oversight.
- Provide technical guidance and capture lessons learned.
- Position involves working in a team environment on challenging, new product programs that include electric drive technology and will support a 80+ strong team of engineers and technologists.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) curriculum
- 9+ years of experience desired, 5 years of experience required
- Master's or Doctorate can potentially decrease experience required
- Previous product development experience (design, validation/test or analysis).
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Experience with electric drive systems and/or components, with focus on electric induction motor and generator and resistor grids
- Experience with structured FMEA & DVP&R process.
- Experience with NPI Issue resolution process.
DESIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Experience with NPI Programs and Processes.
