Job Title: Quality Engineer
Job Summary:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for driving Quality Planning, Process Improvement, and Quality Management Systems Compliance. Ensure Quality Process and Business Improvement methodologies are being implemented at all levels within the organization. S/he will identify and drive resolution of process inefficiencies, product quality issues and customer issues, and drive operational key process indicators (KPI's). Reports to Quality Engineering Manager. Located in Newark, CA.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications and Job Specification:
1. Minimum BS Degree in Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent experience.
2. Must have at least four (4) years experience as a Quality Engineer in a PCBA and Mechanical EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) Environment.
3. Preferred IPC-610 & J-STD 001 Certified personnel.
4. Proficient with PC-based software including Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Other Qualifications:
1. Understanding of Kaizen and lean Manufacturing techniques desired.
2. Experience with developing and documenting procedures.
3. Strong, effective organizational skills required; detail oriented.
4. Possess good communication, listening, and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to individuals from multicultural backgrounds, and build trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results, at all levels within the organization.
5. Must be self-directed, dependable, and motivated with excellent relationship and time management skills.
6. Maintaining professional and effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization
7. To communicate information and state problems or challenges to be resolved in a clear, concise, courteous, nondiscriminatory, and professional manner and be able to provide clarification, as necessary.
8. Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment
Salary Range- $90K- $134K

Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Performs reject verification and analysis to provide feedback to production line engineering for process or product improvement.
- Performs statistical analysis of process through the use of trend charts, control charts, pareto charts, DOE, PFMEA, etc.; reviews and verifies Quality reports.
- Verify compliance of finished assemblies with drawing requirements based on customer and industry standards, ex IPC-610.
- Mentor inspectors, assemblers, and manufacturing personnel to gain the ability and experience to help them grow into higher levels of expertise.
- Is the technical contact person between Unigen and customers in regards to product quality.
- Assist in customer audits.
- Correctly read and interpret detailed, assembly-level drawings and Customer specifications.
- Performs training on quality standards, procedures, and work instructions as needed.
- Assist audits for ISO 9001, AS9100, and ISO 13485.
- Other duties may and will likely be assigned as necessary.
