Job Title: Quality Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to focus on developing and implementing new and improved inspection techniques across multiple production stages. This role involves collaborating with various departments including sales, engineering, manufacturing, and customers to address complaints, defective products, and quality issues. You will have 'hands-on' inspection responsibilities and coordinate activities within Quality Assurance to meet customer delivery requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement new and improved inspection techniques at various production stages.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and customers to address complaints, defective products, and quality issues.
  • Conduct daily 'hands-on' inspection layout responsibilities for in-process, receiving, and final inspection.
  • Coordinate and communicate Quality Assurance activities to meet customer on-time-delivery requirements.
  • Perform customer-facing responsibilities including non-conformance review, root cause analysis, and corrective action documentation.
  • Analyze complaint data to identify trends and initiate corrective actions.
  • Evaluate and approve raw materials, in-process production, and finished products by confirming specifications and conducting visual and measurement verifications.
  • Become an expert on gaging, including selection, procurement, calibration, maintenance, and training.
  • Develop Control/Inspection Plans, SOPs, and Work Instructions.
  • Assist in the development of the quality management system and support ISO9001 certification efforts.
  • Perform audits internally and at the supplier level.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities.
Essential Skills
  • BS Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with 2+ years of experience or 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience without a degree.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, statistical trending, and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions).
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis, including 8Ds, 5 Whys, and Fishbone Diagrams.
  • Experience with Control Plans and FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with electronic/electrical components.
  • Knowledge of PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).
  • Experience with ISO 9001 audits and certifications.
Work Environment

This role is based in a very clean manufacturing environment with attached office cubicles. The role is fully onsite and involves working with metal components, panels, frames, breakers, displays, copper materials, wires, and harnesses.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
