Description
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Manager to oversee and enhance the quality management system (QMS) in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or ISO 14001), ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) compliance, and a proven track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role will ensure that all products meet regulatory, customer, and company quality standards while maintaining strict adherence to ITAR regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management System (QMS):
- Develop, implement, and maintain the ISO-certified QMS, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
- Lead internal and external ISO audits, including preparation, corrective actions, and follow-ups.
- Monitor and manage non-conformances, CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions), and process deviations.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping to maintain compliance with ISO and ITAR regulations.
ITAR Compliance:
- Ensure all products, processes, and documentation comply with ITAR requirements.
- Collaborate with legal and export compliance teams to maintain adherence to export control regulations.
- Oversee the proper handling, storage, and documentation of ITAR-controlled data and products.
Continuous Improvement & Lean Initiatives:
- Drive continuous improvement programs using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and problem-solving efforts to prevent recurrence of quality issues.
Supplier & Customer Quality:
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure incoming materials meet quality standards.
- Partner with customers to address quality concerns, corrective actions, and ensure satisfaction.
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure alignment with company standards.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Manage and mentor the quality team, providing training and development to enhance skills.
- Foster a culture of quality awareness and accountability throughout the organization.
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of quality inspection equipment.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
- Experience:
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience with ISO certification processes and internal/external audits.
- Strong understanding of ITAR regulations and export control compliance.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in QMS software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
- ITAR compliance training certification is a plus.
