Description:

The Quality Manager plays a crucial part to the success of Hartmann's North American division by:
  • Understanding customer expectations of and needs of our product and our capabilities.
  • Managing quality complaints and concerns from customers.
  • Developing quality control and assurance processes and specifications.
  • Identifying, investigating, and eliminating product quality issues.
  • Ensuring all materials, processes, and procedures meet regulatory and quality standards, and promptly resolving any issues or discrepancies that may arise.
  • Provide coaching and training to other employees regarding quality issues and changes.

Key Activities, included but not limited to:

Activity A: Communication and Customer Satisfaction
  • Provide coaching and training to employees on quality management systems, work instructions and checklists.
  • Mentor and train employees on why quality management systems are in place.
  • Conduct regulatory (food safety in packaging) and quality training sessions.
  • Prepare and maintain quality management documentation, assisting with the development of company policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Create standards in accordance with industry standards and customer expectations.
  • Vendor engagement, setting requirements for suppliers, monitor compliance and claims management.

Activity B: Testing and Auditing
  • Internal auditing of quality records for accuracy and completeness. Taking action to address any nonconformances.
  • Performing regular inspections and reviews to ensure employees adhere to quality policies and procedures.
  • Assisting with trials within the facility to improve product quality, cost reduction, chemical efficiency.

Activity C: Continuous Improvement
  • Assist the organization with root cause analysis and corrective action development and implementation to address internal and customer related quality complaints.
  • Monitor and report on all activities, processes, and procedures.
  • Make crucial decisions in favor of cost-efficiency without compromising on quality

Minimum Qualifications (Education):
  • Minimum of B.S. (Bachelor of Applied Science) in Food Science, Agriculture, Chemistry, Quality Assurance, or related field or a minimum of 5 years of related quality manufacturing experience.
  • ASQ certification is preferred.

Previous Experience Required:
  • 5+ years experience working with quality systems or in a quality related role.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional manufacturing experience.
  • Food safety in packaging experience is desired.

Skills, Abilities & Equipment Operated:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in Quality Management Systems and evidence-based decision making.
  • Possess strong communication (both oral and written) and documentation skills and be able to constructively work individually or collaborate within a team environment.
  • Strong client facing skills / relationship management.
