Job Title: Quality Manager Classification: Exempt

Reports To: General Manager, Quality

Summary: The Quality Manager is responsible for quality within all plant locations.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of Manufacturing Quality to meet, quality targets consistent with customer needs, timing, and the long-term success of the organization
  • Manage/support cross-functional team members in the development & implementation of Quality Control in the Manufacturing Plants
  • Define and communicate clear Quality Control deliverables and performance targets so quality KPIs for manufacturing and superior customer satisfaction are evident and supported by data
  • Management of QC inspection at Customer Site during Commissioning phase until Customer Buy-Off in coordination with Product Quality
  • Report on Incoming Supplier Quality, quality of parts manufactured at the site and ensuring customer 'buy-offs' proceed flawlessly
  • Oversee data collection, data analysis and development & display of critical Quality Control parameters in key manufacturing operations to ensure our customers are satisfied with the quality of the tools we build
  • Evaluate manufacturing feasibility decisions with Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and customer satisfaction as top priorities
  • Management of Non-Conformances (NC) of the Sites until implementation of containment action (curative level)
  • Supervise and oversee work of Quality Inspectors. CMM Technicians and SMX Operators
  • Lead employees through effective communication, orientation, coaching, training, and development. Communicate areas of accountability and performance expected of employees. Recommend hiring, salary adjustments, transfers, discipline, promotions and dismissals in consultation with Human Resources
  • Understand company policies and procedures and ensure team adheres to these
  • Manage employees time by ensuring accuracy calculating and submitting in a timely manner
  • Responsible for work order management and employees are charging to correct project
  • All other duties as assigned


  • Requirements:
  • 8+ years' experience in manufacturing quality
  • Experience with ISO-9001:2008/2015 certifications and audits
  • CMM experience, precision measuring experience and knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerancing
  • Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings
  • Ability to manage and execute on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership and coordination of people and resources
  • Bachelors in a Business-related field preferred
  • Team player, able to give / take direction and be self-directed
  • High regard for safety standards
  • Knowledge of welding and automated assembly
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Standards, tooling assembly & setup desired
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Strong written and oral communication skills


  • Work Environment:This position operates in both an office and a shop/plant environment, may be required to work at multiple facilities dependent on workload.

    Physical Demands: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and twist. Occasionally required to lift/push/pull up to 25lbs.

    Expected Hours of Work: This position regularly requires daily overtime hours and frequent weekend work.

    Direct Reports: This position has direct reports.

    Travel: This position may require some out of town and overnight travel, up to 10%.
