Job Description

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership & Day-to-Day Management:
  • Lead and oversee the QA department, ensuring smooth daily operations.
  • Foster team morale by keeping employees informed, directing priorities, and facilitating input.
  • Promote effective communication within the team, ensuring a healthy dynamic and synergy.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and manage any disciplinary actions, as necessary.
  • Ensure clear communication of tasks and priorities, regularly checking in on the status of ongoing projects.
  • Develop and maintain departmental goals and strategies, coordinating the activities and resources necessary to achieve those objectives.

Quality Assurance & Process Management:
  • Oversee and develop quality manufacturing processes within our process centers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Play a key role in new product development, offering valuable input for ongoing production improvements.
  • Maintain ISO 9001:2015 quality standards, ensuring systems are in place for successful audits.
  • Oversee the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submittals, meeting customer quality expectations and adhering to detailed specifications, including statistical analysis and gauge selection.
  • Engage with the manufacturing team to monitor and improve product quality and process methods.

Data & Reporting:
  • Collect and enter critical data, including performance reports, corrective action reports, and customer-facing data.
  • Ensure compliance with all necessary audits and regulations, assisting with ISO audits and corrective actions as required.

Customer & Product Coordination:
  • Directly interact with customers to understand and define quality requirements for orders.
  • Initiate and manage the PPAP process with the customer to ensure their quality standards are met.
  • Contribute to the smooth flow of new products into production, solving challenges as they arise.

Other Responsibilities:
  • Conduct monthly quality meetings to review policies, procedures, and ongoing product updates.
  • Review and improve processes to maintain efficiency and accuracy in the quality control system.


Qualifications
  • Education: BS Degree in Engineering desired or relevant experience.
  • Experience: 3-5 years in a supervisory role, ideally within a metal fabrication or machining environment.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and data reporting skills.
    • Proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and blueprint reading.
    • Expertise in Lean and continuous improvement principles.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Certifications: Engineering or technical certifications are a plus.


Additional Information

Salary Range:
  • $95 - 105K
